Training with Jo Clarke
Jo has achieved great success in eventing and has competed up to Advanced level internationally. With a positive and holistic approach to training, Jo is able to offer lessons to riders of all levels from those wanting to improve their dressage scores, bring on their younger horses or those wishing to compete at a higher level. Tuition is available to liveries on their own horses and to those wanting to bring their horse to TEC for training sessions. Jo is a sympathetic instructor and has a keen interest in instilling confidence in riders as well as creating a solid foundation to work from. Jo will often go back to the basics to ensure that from the very beginning the core training techniques are perfected, calling upon them as you move up through the levels.
With a love of eventing, Jo is able to offer lessons focusing on flatwork and jumping as well as those needing help training younger horses during the backing and starting process.
Jo has many years experience in breaking in and bringing on horses and some of the common issues that are encountered through this process. She is on hand to help you overcome these problems and will also look at horse management to see if any areas could be affecting the horses performance such as tack fitting, nutrition and general management.
Jo also holds the BHS AI teaching qualification and studied at Hartpury Equine College, creating a solid foundation of equine knowledge backed up with her years of experience with horses.
Achievements
Frankly
Purchased as a 2 year old from the Malvern Sales, Frankly was Jo’s most successful horse to date. Having broken him in, Jo went on to train him herself up through the levels and competed in eventing, consistently achieving great results and eventually competing at Advanced level.
Yard Achievements
Having been taught to ride by Jo and based at TEC, Lauren Collard has had great success with her two horses Ryan and Rocky, including winning Arena Eventing Championships as well as competing at the Badminton Grassroots Championships multiple times. Both Rocky and Ryan were bred at TEC.
Liveries have had much success with online dressage tournaments, winning the league multiple times. Many of the liveries have regular lessons with Jo.
